Joseph Ellis is a nationally acknowledge scholar of American history. Ellis was born on July 18, 1943 in capital letter D.C... He sure his B.A. from the College of William and Mary, and earned his M.A., and Ph.D. from Yale University. After serving in the United States Army as a captain, he taught for 2 years at West Point until 1972. He because became a professor of History at Mount Holyoke. Part of 1984, he also served as Acting chairperson while President Elizabeth Topham Kennan Elizabeth was on leave. He stepped down from his chair in 2001, and he was reappointed to the chair in 2005.
