· Evaluation of infection in prosthetic joint.
· Evaluation of abnormal findings on related diagnostic scans or abnormal blood mould results.
· Confirmation of effect of cytokine.
Contraindications: · None.
patient Prep: · ID the patient twice, master physicians order and explain procedure to the patient.
· Patient must void prior to imaging.
Equipment: · LEHR or LEAP collimator, large FOV
· Statics - 100,000 to 200,000 counts.
· Whole soundbox - 10 to 12 cm per minute.
mental process (Time approx 60 min.):
· Inject patient, wait minimum 15 transactions to 1 hour prior to imaging to allow sentence for particles to concentrate in the reticuloendothelial system.
· Position patient supine lay void.
· Statics: Obtain the following posterior images:
· Lumbar and pelvis subject area (do non include liver/spleen)
· Head and thoracic spine.
· left and right hips to include femur.
· Left shoulder to include humerus (do not include liver/spleen)
· Right shoulder to include humerus (do NOT include liver/spleen)
· Long bones if ectopic bone marrow production suspected.
· Anterior: head to thigh.
