Formerly known as assault fatigue, shell shock, or warfare neurosis, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a silent but very deadly reality of war that has captured the attention of the American public especially during this time of war. The men and women that are reverting from combat are not the akin men and women that we sent into combat. These brave men and women are returning home forever changed by the violence that they keep witnessed and go through; these heroes will never be the same.
