Who is Peter Winch

Peter Winch was a British philosopher known for his contributions from the philosophy of Social science . His concerns were with regards to the nature of philosophy as well as the society . He argued against the view that in to understand social life , the social sciences need to adopt the methods from the natural sciences. He mentioned that it is significant to pay attention towards places and also the way of living to which an individual belongs . Winch needs philosophy to tell us how human beings make sense with the reality wherever they live in and how their reality is created intelligible.


Winch 's Contributions

He has contributions in the fields of ethics , towards understanding in the Holocaust , towards the philosophy of literature , to Wittgenstein scholarship , and in translating some of the Wittgenstein 's work .  A single of his most well-liked contributions to philosophy is his writing in Wittgenstein (1969 ) which has the views of 2 numerous philosophers , the two Wittgensteins .
