How does Preistley rescue the font of Mrs birl at the hold back of knead 2?
In An Inspector Calls Preistley presents the characeter of Mrs Birling in some ways and using many different devices. During Act 2 Preistley presents the character Mrs Birling through her use of wrangle and tone, her reactions towards her daughter Sheila, and her harsh veiwpoint of Eva Smith. All of these factors that Preistley has used to present Mrs Birlings character combine and reach a climax at the end of her interrogation by the Inspector in Act 2 resulting in her true character being revealed to the audience.
At the begginning of Act 2 when Mrs Birling greets the Inspector with what I have depict as a warm welcome she is merely maintainig a cool and superficial exterior for the Inspector so that she feels in control. She introduces herself as the Inspector should know who she is.
